AIRMW presents:
Yoshinojo Fujima’s Spiral Inwards/Spiral Outwards
Spiral Inwards/Spiral Outwards is a dynamic exploration of movement and music, evoking imagery of a pendulum that symbolizes the inhale and exhale of life's rhythm. As it spirals outward with each breath, there is a dynamic release of energy, while the inward spiral reflects a calming flow, reminiscent of the natural ebb and flow of existence.
This event includes a breathing workshop with Takahiro Tomatsu and a concluding performance.

ABOUT TOMATSU TAKAHIRO
Born in Tokyo, Tomatsu Takahiro has been involved in mental health and welfare for over 25 years and has taught breathing workshops, community dance, and free art creation programs. He continues to energetically perform impromptu dance performances with people with mental disabilities. He is currently developing Nikujou (martial Butoh), his own physical expression based on martial arts such as Kyokushin Karate, Chinese martial arts, and kickboxing.
ABOUT YOSHINOJO FUJIMA
Rika Lin (a.k.a. Yoshinojo Fujima) is a traditional Japanese dancer, choreographer, and, increasingly, a producer and curator. She is reclaiming willfulness for female artists by building spaces that promote the full person, strengths, and expressions left out of the accepted norms of traditional Japanese performance. Her collaborations embrace musicians, media, and visual artists equally, furthering a meticulous investigation of traditional forms and their progenitor contemporary expressions.
