Join the Links Hall Associate Board

Help us build the future of experimental performance.

For 46 years, Links Hall has been Chicago’s home for artistic innovation and public engagement in the performing arts. Amidst a time of unprecedented funding changes, we launched the Lifeline for Links campaign in the Fall of 2024 to raise $350,000 — and thanks to our incredible community, we’re already 41% of the way there! 

We have an abundance of opportunities queued up to build on this momentum and we need support – real-time volunteer people support – to help us make it happen and launch our next wave of the Lifeline for Links Campaign.

So many of you have opened your hearts, brains, wallets, and reels to help Links. Now, we’re inviting passionate members of our community to leverage their skills and connections on behalf of Links Hall through a new Associate Board, a cohort of dedicated ambassadors who will help expand the impact of Links Hall through advocacy, fundraising, and community-building efforts. And fun.

Role of the Associate Board

While the shape of this group will be influenced by the capacities, skill sets, and energies of the folks who join, here is an idea of some of the tasks and projects this group might take on:

  • Bring people in. We are hoping to fill the houses for the Links-presented shows in March and April. Invite your favorite friends and collaborators to experience the incredible work happening at Links. It really makes a difference.  

  • Help Links Raise Money.

    • Throw a benefit—big or small. Whether it’s a house party, pre-show dinner, or a post-show hang to pass the hat – when our community gets together, big things happen.

    • Help us Meet our next 15K Match. We’ll be announcing another 15K match shortly. Become a “team member” on our givebutter campaign and set a goal to help us meet that 15K match. 

    • Make connections. Know someone who loves the arts and wants to protect its future? Connect them with Links—we’re always welcoming new supporters into our community!

  • Spread the word. Share our story. Post about a show. Send an email. Introduce your network to Links. Your voice keeps Links Hall in the hearts and minds of our community.

  • Share your skills. Whether it’s marketing, event planning, organizing or something too unique for words, we need your expertise!

Q: Are there membership dues?
A: No. Instead of financial gifts, we ask members to contribute through active engagement—by sharing their skills, bringing people to shows, hosting small fundraisers, helping Links with Lifeline efforts, or making introductions.

Q: What’s the first step to join?

A: Fill out our short application form by March 25th and we’ll follow up with next steps! 

Q: When can I start?

A: We're hoping to kick things off with a casual pre-show welcome gathering on Saturday, March 29th for new Associate Board members. Please hold that date. Not a deal breaker if you can't make it. More to come.
