ELISE COWIN

Elise Cowin was awarded a 2018 Co-MISSION Summer Intensive.

Elise Cowin is an independent choreographer and performer. She is a recipient of a 2018 Individual Artists Program Grant through Chicago’s DCASE and was named one of twenty-five dance artists to watch in 2017 by Dance Magazine. Elise has shown work at The Arts Club, Mana Contemporary, Defibrillator Gallery, Sullivan Galleries, High Concept Labs, and the Studebaker Theatre in Chicago; Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice; and Load of Fun Gallery in Baltimore. Current and past collaborations include performances with Every house has a door, Joanna Furnans, Joshua Hoglund, and Ginger Krebs. Elise holds a BA in Dance and English from Goucher College in Baltimore and an MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she now teaches in the Early College Program. She is also Adjunct Faculty of Dance at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.
